Kevin Langlands: Grade 9 Semester 1 Final Post

For me personally this year so far has housed some of my biggest accomplishments in and out of school. In all the time I have been in high school I have always just put in the bare minimum except for during P.E. I have found that when I use the same intensity and effort i use in P.E. in my other courses I can truly succeed. Although I know I can put more effort and intensity into my  P.E. experience I think that overall I am a positive leader during class and try to encourage others to do their best as well.

Throughout the year so far I feel like I have gone from just sort of showing up and doing the activity's all the way to looking forward to coming to P.E. and putting in my all in every class to become more fit and gain confidence in what I can do. I have only forgotten my gym strip once and I think that shows that I want to participate and work hard in class. Another example of my participation is that on choice days i pick the activity that I think will give me the best workout not the activity that allows me to just sit around talking to friends.

I believe i bring a positive attitude to our class and try to include everyone in the daily activity's while trying to get a good workout for me as well. After class i usually stick around and help clean up the equipment. I am always truthful of my fitness scores because i know that i try to push myself on fitness days. One example of this is yesterday when i was sick i ran my first beep test and got a 8. I was not happy with this so i decided to run again and i got another 8 for this i am proud of myself because as you said the second one is always harder.

Another part of this semester that i am not so proud of is my blog. through out the year i should have fifty posts at least but instead I only have two. My goal for next semester is to complete a post for for every P.E. block. I have also became healthier over the semester. At the beginning of the year i was rarely eating lunch but when i was it was always unhealthy foods but recently I have been eating almost every day and a lot healthier too. Because of this i have more energy in class and am in a better state of mind.

Overall this semester I can see I have improved a lot and i believe I deserve an low-mid "A" because of my effort,intensity and improvements in a healthier lifestyle.

  1. Langlands you have been so much better than in the past. I see sweat, red face, AND smiles!!!! I wonder what is changing? I notice you seem to get along with the kids in this class and the girls who work so well on their own. I am excited to hear your starting to use reflective words and own your choices. This is a big step for you. Don't stop now. One way to help you continue to see yourself honestly will be to boost the quality of this blog. You can write about basketball, lacrosse, diet, behaviour... anything that will help us keep you moving forward and improving. A works for this semester, your blog will need a bump to keep it there.

  2. Kevin, youre positive and chill vibe is so great, not just for the class, but for me aswell! Youre participation in class is good, but i know you can do so much better, always push yourself to do more! i have enjoyed having you so far. Post blogs and always push yourself, well done kevin!
